Under the guidance of returning JHC Directors Suzi and Jim Gornall, the clinic focuses on the fundamentals of riding and horsemanship, with an emphasis on control, balance and safety. The Junior Horsemanship Clinic is an opportunity for young riders, ages 9-17 years, to gain knowledge and experience with their horses in the areas of dressage, stadium and cross-country jumping, horse care, stable management, nutrition and conditioning. The experience, ability, and passion of our Junior Horsemanship Clinic instructors will shape the quality of our young students’ experience at GMHA.
Barn Managers will be assigned to a group of students to supervise in the stabling area, including managing feed schedules, making sure chores are done, and assisting with horse care all fall under this designation. Barn Managers will also be responsible for unmounted group lessons each day covering topics such as bandaging, nutrition, and lungeing. Pony Club background and Instructor Certifications are a plus, but are by no means required; teaching and stable management experience are the primary criteria for hiring.

Learn through experience what it takes to host multiple equestrian events at GMHA! This job includes primarily office duties (i.e. creating event packets, sorting ribbons, processing entries, making copies), supporting customer needs, and performing other duties necessary to support events both in and out of the office. Ability to work weekends is a must!
Successful candidates will be a customer service and detail oriented, self-motivated students prepared to perform a wide variety of tasks working as an individual and as part of a team. Solid communication skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, and the ability to learn new software programs are a must. Equine knowledge and event experience is not required but would be preferred. This position pays $10/hour- housing possibilities can be negotiated.

This position includes assisting with all aspects of the maintenance of grounds, facilities, and equipment (including mowing, raking, trimming, trash removal, etc.); minor carpentry and equipment repair, and event set-up and take down at the facility and on trail.
Applicants should be highly motivated, work well on a team and with the public. Job requires the ability to lift 75 lbs., a valid driver’s license, and the ability to use equipment (tractor, water truck, truck and trailers, etc.). Experience working around horses preferred, not required. Full time seasonal- May through October- starting at $10/hour.
