We are pleased to announce that The Green Mountain Horse Association will again bring together the finest of culinary delights and the elegance of horsemanship for our 4th Annual Chef’s Night on August 2, 2010.
Chef’s Night is a celebration of the area’s unique and diverse culinary talent. Local area chefs, restaurateurs, caterers and purveyors of the freshest and finest foods, will again offer tastings of their specialties from the exotic to the every day. Local microbreweries and wineries will also join in with samples of their products.
This year the equestrian event will be an exciting jumping extravaganza (details are still being worked out). Last year’s event attracted more than 45 area restaurants, breweries and wineries who provided the finest of cuisine, good cheer and camaraderie; over 450 guests participating in this culinary experience.
This event is a fundraiser for The Green Mountain Horse Association.

GMHA’s third annual Chef’s Night: Courses and Horses was held on August 10, 2009.
Visit the Chef's Night website
Over 350 people came out to enjoy the event, held in GMHA’s jump field under a large tent. Our 31 vendors included the best chefs, restaurateurs, bakers, wineries, and micro brewers in the area. Each vendor provided a sampling of their specialty dish, desert, or beverage.
The Dartmouth College riding team put on a Polocrosse demonstration, with Equestrian Team Coach Sally Batton providing an informational commentary on the activity. Polocrosse is an equestrian sport combining elements of polo and lacrosse.
Tickets for GMHA’s Safari raffle were on sale throughout the event, and almost sold out prior to the drawing. The winning ticket belonged to Janet Mears of Norwich, VT. Janet chose to take the Safari trip over the $5,000 cash prize. Janet and her daughter will soon embark on an all-expenses-paid eight-day horseback riding safari in Kenya with first class tour operator Off Beat Safaris (www.off beatsafaris.com).

Janet and her daughter will have the opportunity to view extraordinary wildlife, landscapes, and experience the culture of the Masai people while staying in exclusive camps in Northern Kenya. The airfare from Boston to Nairobi is included.
The total value of the trip is over $20,000! Stay tuned for more information on Janet’s trip of a lifetime- we hope to have a full account in an upcoming issue of the GMHA magazine.
Also joining us this year were over 70 landowners, who were our guests at this event. This annual social event is one way that GMHA thanks our many local landowners and neighbors for their generosity in allowing the use of their property for our rides and drives.
Chef’s Night: Courses and Horses proved to be a valuable fundraiser for GMHA once again, thanks to everyone that came out to support us.
