Policy Updates from GMHA

Please note that for the 2013 season GMHA will be requiring a Certificate of Rabies Vaccination within 12 months for all horses entering the grounds. This is in addition to our existing policy requiring proof of negative Coggins test within 12 months for all horses. Both documents should accompany all entries to GMHA events and should travel with the horse to GMHA.

Know the Law, Be Prepared

Vermont Agency of Agriculture GMHA recommends that all riders and drivers review important information from the VAA regarding Vermont State Law on Horse Importation and all should consider obtaining an Exhibition Permit. GMHA has received word that the Vermont Agency of Agriculture will be increasing their enforcement efforts in 2013.

Visit the Chef's Night website to view up to the minute info & see which vendors are joining us this year!

After taking a one year hiatus, GMHA has brought back the well-attended event to the joy of virtually all the past attendees.  Local area chefs, restaurateurs, caterers and purveyors of the freshest and finest foods, will offer tastings of their specialties from the exotic to the every day. Local microbreweries and wineries will also join us with samples of their products.

The Fifth Annual GMHA Chef’s Night will be held Monday, July 29th from 5:00 to 7:30 at the GMHA facility on route 106 in South Woodstock.  Chef’s Night is a picturesque cocktail party under a huge big top with the entertainment showcase of some fine equestrian talent.

This year’s equestrian selection will include very exciting Equestrian Vaulting and Pairs Stadium Jumping.  Vaulting is most often described as gymnastics and dance on horseback and is thrilling to watch.  The Pairs Stadium Jumping will involve teams of a junior and a senior rider jumping a stadium course for the best combined score.  The jumping riders will be pulled from our esteemed local group of very accomplished athletes.

Chef’s Night has been hailed as “the most exciting social event in the Woodstock area”.  Over 38 restaurants and beverage participants presented samples of their culinary finest at the last event.  They come from all over the Upper Valley and beyond to this event, for many of them, their favorite event of the year.

Guests include equestrian and non-equestrian enthusiast from all over the Upper Valley and GMHA members from near and far.  They will be able to view the equestrian presentation from the event tent while sampling some of the finest epicurean delights in the Upper Valley.  Whether horse enthusiasts or not, guests can enjoy the elegance, beauty and agility of the animals combined with the skill of the riders.

Tickets for Chef’s Night are limited and can be purchased online at or downloading the form from www.gmhachefsnight.com.   Proceeds from the event will benefit the GMHA.
