Competitive Trail Ride

A fun trail ride over a marked course of dirt roads and trails sanctioned by ECTRA. Choose a single day 25-mile or a 2-day 50-mile. You may also do 25-miles each day with 2 different horses.

Pass/Fail Option: A pass/fail option is available for all riders. See the ECTRA rulebook at www.ectra.org if you are unfamiliar with the pass/fail option. Pass/fail competitors will receive ECTRA mileage, an abbreviated scoresheet and a completion award.

Your entry includes breakfast and lunch each day that you ride.

Stabling is included with your entry for each night before you ride.

Awards:  Each 25-Mile Ride will award Champion, Reserve and 10 placings for Adult and Junior Divisions. The 2-Day 50-Mile Ride will do the same. Additional awards are given for high point Rookie Horse, Rookie Rider, and Registered Morgan on each day. Completion awards to all who finish.

Horse Health Requirements

GMHA requires a negative Coggins and proof of rabies vaccination within 12 months for each horse that comes on the property.  Rabies titers are accepted within one year of event date and must accompany a note from your veterinarian explaining the reason why the vaccine could not be administered.

Please note that the State of Vermont requires a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection within 30 days or Exhibition Permit from the Vermont Agency of Agriculture’s Animal Health office for any horses entering the state. GMHA does not require these documents with entry, but the VT Agency of Agriculture may enforce these regulations at any time.
