Event Details

The GMHA Junior Horsemanship Clinic is celebrating its 62nd anniversary in 2018! This  is the premier eventing clinic in the northeast for riders ages 9-17.  Riders bring their own horses or ponies to camp, and receive two quality mounted lessosn and two unmounted lessons every day. Riders will school all three phases of eventing: dressage, cross-country, and show jumping. The professional staff and extensive facility makes this an amazing opportunity!

Our facility includes four all-weather riding rings, a top quality cross-country course, six permanent barns, an extensive trail system, a Youth Center facility, and snack bar. GMHA has a rich history in eventing, having hosted horse trials for over 50 years.

A special thank you to: People’s United Bank, Equi-Prep and Strafford Saddlery for sponsoring 2017 JHC t-shirts!

2018 News:

Camper applications are due April 13!

  • The Starter Horse Trials will now take place BEFORE the JHC. Saturday June 23rd is the new date for the schooling trials. Campers can enter independently and stay over for arrival day of JHC on Sunday June 24. Worry not, campers will still be competing in Camp Competition in place of Starter Horse Trials as part of their entry.
  • JHC will continue to offer a 7-day Short Format along with  the traditional 11-day Long Format camp.
  • The Upper Level Program will not run as a separate program within camp. All riders will follow the same format and be paired to the appropriate instructors given their experience.

Be sure to like GMHA Junior Horsemanship Clinic’s Facebook Page! You can find information and updates here, along with pictures of the camp!
